Ready or not, Christmas is getting close. As a mom, the holidays can certainly be a little hectic and raise stress levels. Every year I try to make sure that I take the time to spend some relaxing and fun quality time with my son, making memories and enjoying them a little instead of all the typical crazy rush of the holiday season.
These are some fun Christmas activities for kids that you can take a break and enjoy doing with them this year. And the best part? Most of the activities listed here super cheap or free.
1. Make Snowman Spoons For Hot Chocolate
Baby it’s cold outside, and what kid wouldn’t love to cuddle up with some hot chocolate to warm them up? These super cute candy cane snowman spoons are fun and easy to make, and would be the perfect minty addition to your hot chocolate for Christmas to keep everyone warm and toasty.
2. Create DIY Gift Wrap
I love this fun Christmas activity for kids! Creativity, DIY, and bonus points for inexpensive gift wrap. For this activity, you’ll just need a roll of brown paper, paint, brushes, and then let the kids paint whatever their little hearts desire.
3. Drive Around to See the Lights
There is just something so magical about seeing those beautiful Christmas light displays. I love watching my son’s eyes just light up looking at the twinkling lights. For a free activity the whole family can enjoy, load the kids up in the car and drive around town looking for the best Christmas lights.
4. Make Some Salt Dough Ornaments and Keep the Memories Alive For Years To Come
Homemade salt dough ornaments are one of those timeless fun Christmas activities for kids that can capture those little handprints for years to come. Salt dough is surprisingly easy to make. You’ll just need salt, flour, and a large mixing bowl.
5. Create A Movie-Themed Game Night
Snuggling up to a good Christmas movie (Hallmark anyone?) is one of my very favorite things to do during the holidays. This Polar Express themed family game night is genius!
